about

This is an earlier recording of this song that just has Jesse and not Andrew. Andrew wrote the lyrics to this song after yet another conversation with a friend about depression.

lyrics

All my friends have got the blues
It's like a cold we gave each other
At parties and plays and in midnight kisses
We're all sick with it
and We're all sick of it
It's seem all we have to say
Is, “Are the new meds treating you ok”
And will you still be breathing by May
Because sometimes it gets dark inside your stomach
And sometimes your not busy enough to not see it
And sometimes it comes out of your eyes while you are smiling
And sometimes it gets harder and harder to not be it

All my closest friends have got the blues
We're lonely in our crowds and in our basements
We try to chase the blues onto paper on computers
Or to our next greatest performance
Or maybe we just eat and sleep all day
And maybe none of it makes us ok
Because sometimes it gets dark inside your stomach
And sometimes you've fallen to far to see it
And sometimes it's just dark without a star around to see
And sometimes it is her and her and her and him and him and them and me
And sometimes it's just me

All my dearest friends have got the blues
We're all getting darker now with age
And we're all managing I guess ok
And we've got steady jobs and
maybe someone to call us love
And we'll manage.
I guess we'll manage.

So to all my dearest friends who have the blues
Just remember that I wrote this all for you
To remind you that when your lost
And you don't know what it will cost
to find your self again
That we're all lost together in this wood
And together we'll make ourselves feel good
